Separation/Divorce

We empower clients to move forward with their lives, by educating them about their rights and obligations regarding decision-making responsibility, child support, spousal support, and property division. Through a combination of determined representation and advice, we help our clients to reach the best outcomes for their family, whether through mediation, the negotiation of a separation agreement or litigation.

Getting Married or Living Together

Our office assists in the preparation and review of prenuptial, postnuptial and cohabitation agreements.  These agreements allow clients to plan for their future, by educating them about and protecting them from potential financial and  personal risk. They are an integral part of any financial plan, whether a couple has children or not.

Child Protection

If a children’s aid society has become involved with your family inside or outside of court, it is very important that you speak with a lawyer as soon as possible to know your rights.  Whether you are a parent, foster parent or kin member, we are here to assist you.

High-Conflict Litigation

Our office has extensive experience working on high-conflict and domestic violence cases.  We have experience in cases involving child abuse, child abduction, the Hague Convention, disputes over jurisdiction and other high conflict matters.  Our cases frequently involve reports from the Office of the Children's Lawyer or s.30 assessments.  We work hard to help clients find reasonable solutions in difficult circumstances.

Mediation

Our office offers an out of court settlement process where both parties negotiate the terms of their settlement with a third-party mediator. The mediator does not provide legal advice. Parties are encourage to seek independent legal advice before signing any agreement.
